Fall is around the corner and the weather is obviously changing. Sometimes, the days are nice and sunny, but other times, it’s foggy and raining. When it’s raining, we might run out of activities to do, so I thought of sharing my favourite things to do when it’s raining in autumn.
1- Read horror, thriller, suspense, mystery books
Just put yourself in the spooky season mood and binge-read books in these genres! Here are some recommendations from Goodreads: https://www.goodreads.com/shelf/show/fall-reading-list
2- Check out a museum exhibit
I love museums and galleries. If you’re in Montreal, there are plenty to visit. Check out this list here!
3- Fill out some pages of a colouring book
Colouring books have been therapeutical for me lately. They bring calm and peace, and it’s fun colouring and choosing the colours you want for your drawings. It makes you focussed. All the better while listening to music! You can find so many colouring books (even for adults) on Amazon or in any bookstore!
4- Knit a scarf or a sweater or whatever you want
Why not?
5- Watch horror, suspense, thriller, etc. movies
Same as for the books! Check these recommendations here.
6- Work on that project or hobby you’ve been putting off for a while
You can also learn new skills simply by checking out YouTube videos, or subscribing to websites like Skillshare & Masterclass.
7- Bake an apple or pumpkin pie
It’s just so good and has these cozy vibes!
8- Curate your own autumn playlist
Create your fall Spotify (or Apple Music or whatever platform you use) playlist! It’s fun and listening to it will put you into that season mood.
9- Organize your things
Organize your emails, your room, your office, your library… anything that needs to be clean and tidy!
10- Self-care
Treat yourself to a spa day, do some yoga, or just rest, relax, and do all of the things that bring you joy.
11- Bonus: Do something more spiritual
Reconnect with God, start a Bible study (alone, why not?), pray, meditate, read spiritual books, listen to sermons or podcasts… Bring some peace to the mind and heart.
